About this tour
The cave begins with a narrow, elongated chamber measuring 25 feet in length and just 4 feet in width. The ceiling stays low, ranging from 4 to 5 feet high, giving this first space an intimate, almost tomb-like atmosphere. Rough stone walls, shaped by time and water, catch occasional glints of light from the cave entrance where minerals shimmer against the rock. Underfoot, the floor is uneven, with shallow dips and subtle rises worn smooth in places by flowing water and passing feet. As the first space visitors encounter, this chamber serves as a gateway into the cave, setting the tone for the adventure ahead with its confined feel, earthy dampness, and the echo of footsteps against the close walls.
From there, the cave opens into a much larger area stretching 53 feet in length. The ceiling rises dramatically, beginning at around 6 feet near the entrance and reaching an impressive 18 feet toward the far end. This change creates an immediate sense of expansion. To the left, a still pool reflects the glow of a headlamp before feeding into a stream that continues along the cave wall. The gentle sound of moving water brings a calming rhythm to the space, while the cooler air adds a sense of freshness. Near the back, an opening on the right invites visitors to continue deeper, marking the shift from the cave’s tighter entrance into a more spacious and adventurous environment.
The next section introduces a dramatic change in character. Here, visitors encounter a narrow port-like passage that is the only portion of the journey requiring a crawl. The full passage extends 43 feet, with the first 25 feet measuring roughly 4 feet wide and only 3 feet high. In this close corridor, the stone feels cool and damp, with surfaces that alternate between smooth patches and sharper edges. For the final 18 feet, the ceiling rises enough to allow a hunched walk rather than a crawl. Even with that slight relief, the passage remains tight and demanding, adding an element of challenge that makes the transition into the next space all the more striking.
Beyond the crawl lies one of the cave’s most awe-inspiring chambers. This expansive space stretches 117 feet in length, with widths ranging from 10 to 25 feet and a ceiling that rises to 35 feet at its highest point. The effect is almost cathedral-like. Overhead, silver-colored mineral deposits shimmer across the ceiling, catching the light in a way that resembles a night sky scattered with stars. Along the left side, the stream continues its gentle course, its soft gurgle adding to the chamber’s calm, almost reverent atmosphere. Cooler air settles in this larger space, and the combination of water, scale, and sparkling stone gives the chamber the feel of a natural sanctuary - a place to pause, take it in, and admire both the artistry of the cave and the creativity of the Creator.
The journey then continues into a long, elegant hall measuring 65 feet in length and 10 to 11 feet wide, with ceilings ranging from 22 to 25 feet high. The stream remains on the left, tracing a familiar path through the cave and adding a quiet sense of continuity. Above, intricate flowstone formations transform the ceiling into a gallery of natural sculpture. Formed over countless years by mineral-rich water moving through the rock, these formations create a striking display of texture and shape. As light plays across their surfaces, the ceiling comes alive with shifting highlights and shadows, giving the entire passage the appearance of a work of art suspended in stone.
The next section begins with a small descent - a 3-foot drop off a boulder - that immediately signals another change in scenery. Beyond it lies a passage 25 feet long, between 5 and 7 feet wide, with ceiling heights ranging from 8 to 14 feet. More intimate in scale yet no less impressive, this area is defined by the remarkable flowstone along the left wall. Brilliant white with rich golden-yellow tones, the formation resembles a tapestry woven by nature over thousands of years. As light moves across its surface, the details and contours seem to glow, giving this part of the cave an almost otherworldly beauty. Though narrower than the chambers before it, this stretch leaves a lasting impression through its color, texture, and sense of craftsmanship.
From there, the cave opens once again into a broad and beautiful chamber extending 125 feet in length. Its width varies from 10 to 18 feet, while the ceiling climbs from 10 feet to as high as 30 feet, creating a dramatic sense of volume. Along the left wall, both flowstone and gypsum deposits line the passage, producing a dazzling blend of smooth mineral drapery and crystalline detail. The stream continues along the lower left side, and in its clear water small fish can be seen darting through the current. Their presence introduces an unexpected sense of life to the underground setting, turning the chamber into more than a geological wonder. The interplay of moving water, mineral formations, and aquatic life creates a space that is both visually stunning and deeply serene.
The final chamber is the largest of the journey and a fitting conclusion to the experience. Measuring 162 feet in length, with widths between 18 and 22 feet and ceiling heights soaring from 32 to 36 feet, this vast cavern leaves a powerful impression. Here, the stream spreads across much of the floor, creating a reflective surface that mirrors the space above and enhances the feeling of openness. Along the right side, a natural shelf adds a distinctive feature to the chamber. Measuring 31 feet long, 4 feet high, and 4 feet wide, it provides a natural ledge that can serve as a vantage point or quiet resting place from which to take in the room’s full scale. From the shelf to the ceiling, the distance ranges from 25 to 28 feet, leaving ample space for light to move across the stone and water. It is a dramatic, memorable ending to the cave journey - one that captures the scale, beauty, and quiet wonder of everything that came before.
